A clear glass vase overflows with lush foliage. Tiny star like white daisy flowers peep out from amongst the leaves. The rich green of the leaves is complemented by the bright sunflower yellow background. One small white flower has fallen in the glass table and casts a reflection.

I came across this Tree Daisy as a weed in Australia. I needed to remove from the area I maintain, but it was so beautiful that I had to capture it before it was removed.

That same month I was sent a card with an artwork by Van Gogh. It reminded of how beautiful the colours and brushstrokes are in Vincent’s work. So, the stars aligned and I was inspired by these two elements. I applied thick paint strokes in the direction of the subjects.

The graphic shapes of the painting remind me of Art Deco interiors.

Framing

Sold Unframed. This piece is ready to hang. It has a wire across the back so it’s ready to place on your wall. If you wish to frame this work a deep floating would set off the piece wonderfully.
