ABOUT
This Watercolour original artwork features a yellow dawn behind Byron Headland and Julien Rocks in amongst the rain. A massive Humpback Whale breaches in joyous splendour. The large intense storm bank which is similar to the intense summer storms I have seen many times over the bay. These banks of cloud are deep blue and filled with rain. This dramatic view over Byron Bay was painted using Australian Ochre from a local creek and Natural Earth pigment which is applied as a watercolour medium. These paints have intense colours and a high lightfast quality.
This dramatic scene shows the wonders of the Australian coastline, especially Byron Bay.
FRAMING
Sold unframed.
The actual size the image is 39.5 x 27.5cm which is perfect for a A3 41.5 x 29cm opening in a frame. This leaves a small white boundary around the artwork. As this is a watercolour on paper it will need framing behind glass to protect from moisture and marks. I would also recommend hanging away from direct sunlight to protect from fading. The attached image shows this work framed with a white cardboard surround and thin frame. This work could also be accentuated by a simple pale wooden frame.
